Surf Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that has been offering a variety of recovery-related services in the downtown Lafayette area for more than 20 years. Surf takes prides in providing recovering individuals and their families the opportunity to reclaim the hope, the freedom, and the self-respect that all human beings need and deserve.
Since its founding in 1993, Surf, which stands for the Service Recovery Unity Fellowship, has relocated three times—each time in order to upgrade its capacity to serve. At its current location, the Surf Center makes tremendous impact in the greater Lafayette community, fielding up to 1,200 visitors or requests for information weekly, accommodating up to 32 meetings per week and sometimes three meetings at a time. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are just two of the many groups who meet at Surf. The Surf Center also hosts a variety of alcohol- and drug-free social events.
If you’d like to attend, donate, or volunteer at the Surf Center, you can find more info about them here on their Facebook page.
